PLEASE NOTE: The California judicial system has been severely impacted due to the backlog of eviction cases created by the various COVID eviction moratoria enacted since 2020. In some courts, for example, once a case has been filed, it can take weeks or months to obtain a court case number so that service attempts can commence. Depending on the court, there may be other delays that include, entering judgment, obtaining a trial date, having the writ issued to the sheriff, and the scheduling of lockouts.
